Favorite Music Venues in Colorado

Denver

I had a friend in town last week, who happens to love live music and food as much as me, so I had a blast showing her around.

Favorite Venues to see Live Music in Denver

Red Rocks is definitely my favorite place in the world to see live music. There is something magical about being nestled between the two giant rocks and listening to the amazing acoustics with the Denver city lights twinkling in the background. It is about 20 minutes west of Denver. For many artists, this is number one on their bucket list. The rows are wide, which is hard to find these days leaving plenty of room to sit or stand and dance. The benches are rock, so do tend to get chilly, but red rocks lets you bring blankets to warm up and put under you. The only negative I can think of is you should expect to do lots of walking and lots of stairs. If you are not used to the altitude or not in great shape, these stairs can kick your butt. Try to park on the higher lots to avoid lots of walking. Tailgating in the red dirt is fun before concerts. If you are a music lover, I can't recommend this enough. If you are into working out, you can show up most days and run the stairs, or there are hiking trails around the park.

Grizzly Rose- The Grizzly Rose has housed such performers as Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, and Taylor Swift. It is a legendary bar and dance hall located about 20 minutes north of Denver right of I25. When you think of Nashville Honkey Tonks, this is it, lots of dancing, pool tables, some chairs, a mechanical bull, it has it all. It also has a full calendar with country artists playing at least once a week.

Summit Music Hall is a smaller venue located right in Downtown Denver. The positives are its location, size, and accessibility to stage. This is one of my favorite places to see a show.
