Wild Side Specialty Tours- www.sailhawaii.com

I honestly have to say that this is one of the top 5 experiences of my life!

If you’ve ever wanted to see dolphins, and swim with them in the wild, this is the best way to do it! The boat tours are organized by marine biologists who take a small group out on the water (usually about 6-10 people), and let you swim with the dolphins! They are experienced enough to know how to find the dolphin pods in the water, and by the time you’re getting your snorkel gear put on the dolphins are all around you! It’s so much better than the traditional “swimming with the dolphins” that you’re probably used to, because you are literally in the ocean surrounded by wild dolphins, and not confined to a small area. It almost hard to put into words how amazing of an experience it is, you definitely have to see it for yourself.

Surfing Lessons with Ohana Surf-

Waikiki has some of the best waves to learn to surf on, which makes surfing here an activity for all ages and athletic ability!  The waves are gentle enough to get you started, but still actually feel like you are surfing. The session is for two hours, which includes a safety video and practicing how to get up on the sand before entering the water. The Ohana team did a fantastic job of keeping everyone moving and safe at the same time. Don’t be fooled by the gentle waves, it is still an intense workout! I was able to surf around 10 times during the surf lessons, and it was such a fun time!

Don’t forget to put sunscreen all body parts that will be exposed to the sun before you go. I forgot my calves and was red for days!

Pearl Harbor Memorial -

Right now the actual memorial is closed, but they did have some options which were new since the last time I was there! You can do a virtual reality tour of the Arizona Battleship where you can see a timeline of how the harbor was attacked.  They also played a 15-minute movie before entering the ship to tour the outside of the memorial, which was very somber and educational.  The USS Missouri is open for tours. Whether you enjoy history or not, I feel like this is a must!
